took to social media to pen a

heartfelt note

for his father, whom he fondly referred to as his "

favorite hero

." The touching tribute was accompanied by a series of lovely pictures, which offer a glimpse into the father-son’s bond.
Sidharth shared that he admires everything about his father, starting from his style to sense of humour and fitness.

In his note shared on Instagram, Siddharth wrote, “Happy Father’s Day, Dad! You have been my favorite hero since childhood and will always be! From admiring your style, fitness, to your sense of humor, you truly are the best I know! - Your Biggest Fan #MyDadMyCaptain #HappyFathersDay.”

is a former Merchant Navy captain. Earlier, when Sidharth Malhotra was promoting his film ‘Shershaah’ he opened up about his bond with his father. He spoke about how the only validation that’d matter to him would be from his dad. He also spoke about how his grandfather got injured during war and took an early retirement. “My father is an army brat and he has seen my grandfather serve. He’s just happy that one of his sons has become a pretend army soldier if not a real one and is playing this amazing heroic character,” Sidharth earlier told Hindustan Times.

He also opened up about how ‘Shershaah’ is a film close to his heart in more ways than one, especially because of his family’s army background.
