Prakash Raj set to play antagonist in 'Thalapathy 69'

. While the makers have officially announced the film, the cast, crew and plot of the film is still under wraps. It is said that the film might be a one made on serious note with political and social references to it as it will be Vijay's last film before his retirement from the entertainment industry.
The new buzz is that actor Prakash Raj who played the antagonist in Vijay's 'Varisu' is considered to play the antagonist in '

Thalapathy 69

' as well.

However, there is no official confirmation yet. Prakash Raj and Vijay have acted together in multiple films that include 'Gilli', 'Sivakasi', Pokkiri' and 'Villu'. The hero vs villain combo has worked well for Vijay and Prakash Raj and fans are excited to know if the actor's last film will also have Prakash Raj in it.
A couple of days back reports emerged that Bobby Deol will be playing the antagonist in the film and it is also said to star Simran, Samantha, Pooja Hegde, Mohanlal, Mamitha Baiju among others as part of the film's cast. However, the official confirmation is awaited. 'Thalapathy 69' will go on floors this October and the film is said to release in theatres in October next year, 2025.
On the work front, Vijay was last seen in '

GOAT

' and the movie which was released on September 5 has now officially grossed more than Rs 400 crore at the box office. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film features Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Laila, Jayaram, Mohan, Ajmal, Parvathi Nair and Vaibhav. The music for it is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
