The Lucknow Super Giants teased their captaincy prospect with a cheeky post on social media. The franchise shared a 'Hum sath sath hain' reference to keep the fans guessing as to who will be the captain of the team. They used the song "Sunoji dulhan ek baat sunoji" to describe the roles the players will be playing in the team. This left the fans guessing as to who between Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant will be the captain of the team.

Pooran was referred to as the 'ghar ke mukhiya' which is like the head of the family. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant was referred to as someone who has a very unique style and aura. The likes of David Miller and Aiden Markam fell under the category of the key players of the team. Ravi Bishnoi was referred to as the experienced player and Mayank Yadav filled in for the exuberance of youth that LSG boast of.

Rishabh Pant became the costliest player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. Rishabh Pant was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore in the mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, November 24.

LSG, who had reached the IPL playoffs twice in 3 seasons in the captaincy of KL Rahul, opted to retain Nicholas Pooran (INR 21 Crore), Ravi Bishnoi (INR 11 Crore), Mayank Yadav (INR 11 Crore), Mohsin Khan (INR 4 Crore) and Ayush Badoni (INR 4 Crore)
