Filmmaker Karan Johar on Monday made a long note, acknowledging and appreciating the success of 'Stree 2'. The horror-comedy was released on August 15 and is currently doing fabulous business at the box office. KJo highlighted the same, and called the film's success a testament to the fact that a good "story and a deep rooted connect with audience will pay rich dividends at the ticket window".
In the caption of his Instagram post, the director tagged Maddock Films, the writer of the film, Niren Bhatt, director Amar Kaushik, Jio Studios, and all the cast members, to congratulate them for the humongous success. He mentioned that the achievements of 'Stree 2' are historic, adding that he feels "deeply inspired" by the "belief, talent and strategy" of the team backing the film.
A part of his long post on social media read, "The JUGGERNAUT MEGA BLOCKBUSTER SUCCESS of STREE2 is not just a celebration for @maddockfilms but must be viewed as celebration of Hindi cinema and Indian mainstream cinemaâ€æ in the past few years Hindi cinema has been under scrutiny for combatting box office challengesâ€æ the post pandemic audience has been evolving and many times difficult to assess â€æ but the mega success of STREE 2 has not only validated the strength of a solid storytelling and rooted content but also affirmed that humongous conviction, bravado and focus on concept, story and a deep rooted connect with an audience will pay rich dividends at the ticket window (sic)!"

'Stree 2' emerged as the biggest Bollywood hit of the year within five days of its release. The film has collected over Rs 200 crore in five days at the box office, and is not looking at slowing down anytime soon. It is also the highest-grossing film of Shraddha and Rajkummar's career.
The film tells the story of a town's fight against a legendary ghost named 'Sar Kata', who attacks and kidnaps women. 'Stree 2' is a part of Maddock's supernatural universe, which includes titles like 'Munjya' and 'Bhediya'. The film also features stunning cameos by Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan, paving the way for the future of the supernature universe.
