When and where is the IPL 2024 Auction?
The player auction is scheduled to take place at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai on Tuesday, commencing at 11:30 am local time (1:00 pm IST). The event will be televised live on the Star Sports Network and will also be available for live streaming on the JioCinema app.

How many players will finally go under the hammer?
The teams have narrowed down their choices to 333 players, consisting of 214 Indian and 119 overseas players. Among them, 116 players are capped, while 215 are uncapped, and two players hail from Associate nations. With 77 slots left to be filled across the 10 teams, 30 spots are designated for overseas players.
The auction process
The players have been categorised into 19 different sets based on their specialisation, such as batter, all-rounder, fast bowler, spinner, and wicketkeeper. The auction format ensures an alternation between capped and uncapped players after a few sets.
What is the highest base price category for the players?
A group of 23 players has entered the top base price bracket, setting it at Rs 2 crore. Notable names in this category include Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, Umesh Yadav, and Shardul Thakur. Additionally, thirteen players have established their base price at Rs 1.5 crore.

DC - Rs 28.95 crore
GT - Rs 38.15 crore
KKR - Rs 32.7 crore
LSG - Rs 13.15 crore
MI - Rs 17.75 crore

Who will be the auctioneer?
Mallika Sagar, who hosted the WPL auction on December 9, will now take on the role of auctioneer. She succeeds Hugh Edmeades and becomes the first woman auctioneer in the 16-year history of the IPL.
