In Haryana, PM Modi tries to woo voters with Central scheme benefits, target Congress as ‘deceitful and dishonest party’

KURUKSHETRA: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi addressed a

Jan Aashirvaad rally

to boost Haryana state assembly election campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the land of Kurukshetra on Saturday. As many as 23 BJP candidates from six districts participated in the rally, which recorded a large gathering at theme park in Kurukshetra.
The PM reached the rally spot at about 4.10 pm, when he was welcomed by top Haryana BJP leadership leader chief minister

Nayab Singh Saini

and honoured with a traditional turban and a bouquet of paddy crop.

Starting his address with Jai Shri Krishna in Kurukshetra, the land of Mahabharata, PM Narendra Modi greeted the gathering with ‘Ram Ram’.
“I am feeling very happy to visit the land of Gita. Coming to Kurukshetra and seeing the shrine of India’s culture fills my mind. Gita’s knowledge is here, traces of Saraswati’s (river) existence are here. It is the land of Guru Gobind Singh and the sixth Sikh Guru”, PM Modi said.

“You gave me a chance to serve for the third time in New Delhi. But the enthusiasm that I am seeing here, I think, Haryana has decided for BJP’s hattrick. My fellow MP Naveen Ji was telling me that, in the history of the last 50 years, it has remained the specialty of Haryana that it always forms the government of the party which is ruling in Delhi”, PM Modi added while requesting the gathering to form the BJP government for one more time.

PM also lauded the performance and working of Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini adding that he is dedicated to the development of the state for 24 hours. “It is a big achievement to reach this post, digest the same living with modesty after coming from a backward society. His vision and perseverance are even bigger than big people”, said PM Modi about Saini while seeking blessing for him and BJP from the people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "During the last Lok Sabha election, I had said that this time the first 100 days of the BJP government will be full of big decisions. It will be about strengthening the poor, farmers, women and youth. Now, 100 days have not even been completed, but our government has started new works worth about Rs 15 lakh crore."
The PM made an attempt to woo Haryana voters with Centre government’s schemes like housing, Ayushman benefits of Rs 5 lakh medical treatment to all citizens above 70 years of age, new pension scheme and others. Modi said the BJP government is working to make electricity bill “zero” for poor and middle-class people with initiatives of solar energy.
Targeting Congress, PM Narendra Modi said, "We have seen the era of Congress government when the development money used to remain confined to only one district. Even every child knows in whose pockets that money used to go. BJP has connected the whole of Haryana with the flow of development. Before the BJP government came, half of the houses in Haryana did not have tap connection, today Haryana is becoming a state with almost 100 per cent tap connections."
"Congress is never affected by the problems of the people. There is no more dishonest and deceitful party in the country than Congress... Congress talks big for the farmers... shows them big dreams. The truth is that this is nothing but a lie. If Congress has the guts, then why does it not implement its farmer schemes in Karnataka and Telangana? All development work is at a standstill in Karnataka and Telangana. Congress is a highly dishonest party. Congress party has only one policy - empty the public treasury to win elections. Similarly, look at the condition of Punjab... what have they done”, said PM Modi while throwing a challenge to Congress.
PM Modi said even citizens, government employees in Himachal Pradesh are not happy, where Congress is ruling.
“Congress lied on One Pension Scheme, the country caught its lie. BJP has brought a new pension scheme for the employees”, said PM Modi.
PM Modi said Congress is anti-Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class and it wants to end the reservation.
Haryana CM Nayab Saini also addressed the gathering.
