LUCKNOW: VHP working president

Alok Kumar

on Tuesday said that people are waiting to see if SP chief

Akhilesh Yadav

attends the consecration ceremony of

Ram Temple in Ayodhya

on January 22.
Maintaining that invitation has been sent to the SP president, Kumar said that if Akhilesh skips the event it would mean that Ram did not want him to come.
Kumar said that the VHP had decided to invite all presidents of important political parties.

"We had seen his earlier statement that he would come if invited. He has been invited. But now he is saying that he would go if Ramji calls. If he does not come then it will become clear that even Ram does not want him to come," he said. The VHP chief statement came a week after Akhilesh said that he would attend the consecration ceremony of

Ram Temple

in

Ayodhya

if "called by the God". "Ye Bhagwan ka karyakram hai...aur Bhagwan se bade mukhyamantri (CM Yogi Adityanath) nahi ho sakte...bhagwan se bade koi nahi ho sakta...aur Bhagwan jisko bulanye wo apne aap dauda chala jayega (This is a ceremony of the God....and no CM (CM Yogi Adityanath) can be greater than God...no one can be greater than God...one will automatically turn up at the call of God," Akhilesh had said.
Earlier, the SP had slammed the BJP for using religion for politics.
