Google Meet
has just unveiled an update that significantly enhances the quality of
recorded meetings
. Previously capped at 720p, Google Meet recordings can now boast a crisp and clear
1080p resolution
.
This update addresses a common pain point for users who rely on recorded meetings for future reference or presentations. The improved resolution ensures sharper visuals and better readability of text and presentations shared during the meeting.
Along with this, the update also brings full HD video support for meeting participants on devices equipped with 1080p cameras.
While previously limited to 720p, participants can now leverage their high-definition cameras for clearer
video calls
. However, it's important to note that this feature is enabled by default and requires users to opt-in through the settings menu.
Additionally, full HD video transmission only occurs when recording is enabled or if another participant has pinned a 1080p user's feed on a large enough screen.
Google Meet gets adaptive audio feature
Recently, the video conferencing app from Google got adaptive audio feature. Adaptive audio addresses this issue by intelligently managing audio streams. Google Meet automatically detects when multiple devices in the same location are joining a meeting and synchronizes their microphones and speakers to ensure clear, echo-free audio for all participants.
This allows users to collaborate seamlessly using Google Meet in conference rooms or huddle spaces with multiple laptops, without worrying about disruptive audio problems. Additionally, the adaptive audio feature eliminates the need for everyone to crowd around a single laptop for optimal audio pickup.
