LUCKNOW: At least four dead and seven injured
victims
of Rudraprayag road accidents were identified as residents of Uttar Pradesh, said the office of UP
relief commissioner
. On Saturday, around 11 am, a minibus ferrying 26 tourists from Gurugram to Chopta-Tungnath, plunged 200-metre deep into a gorge of Alakananda river near Raitoli area of Rudraprayag district, killing 14 and leaving 12 of them critically injured.
According to the relief commissioner's office, a
tehsildar-level team
has been dispatched from
Saharanpur
to assist in identification of the victims from UP.
The
injured
victims from the state were identified as Vadana Sharma (30) and Shubham Singh (27) of Noida, Mahima Tripathi (23), Lakshya Agarwal (22) from Mathura and Namita Sharam (30) of Jhansi, all admitted in the district hospital of Rudraprayag.
Critically injured Aditya (25) of Mathura and Chhavi of Jhansi have been airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh.
Meanwhile, deceased victims have been identified as Smriti Sharma (28) of Sonbhadra, Mohini Pandey (27) of Pratapgarh, Akansha of Jhansi and Smriti Tripathi (district not identified yet).
