NEW DELHI: Calling it a violation of the "basic spirit of democracy",

lamented that statues of Gandhi and Ambedkar had been removed from prominent places in the

Parliament

campus and moved to a separate corner, though the spots were decided decades ago after careful consideration about their importance.
Kharge slammed the relocation of statues of all important leaders "without consultation" despite the presence of a dedicated committee to take such decisions.
