A Delhi Police Sub-Inspector (SI) AND two head constables were arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths in two separate cases of bribery, officials said on Saturday.

The Sub-Inspector was posted to the Hauj Khas Police Station.

In the first case, the accused SI was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh. In the second case, the two head constables were caught accepting Rs 10,000 as part of Rs 50,000 bribe demanded.

The first case was registered by the CBI against the Sub-Inspector in connection with the allegations that he demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant for filing a favourable Action Taken Report in court. After some bargaining by the complainant, the accused SI agreed to accept a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh.

The CBI set up a trap and caught the accused SI red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh from the complainant.

The second case registered by the CBI involved an accused and unknown official of the Special Staff of Delhi Police.

As per the complaint against the constables, at least four persons in plain clothes came to the shop of the complainant and two of them introduced themselves as members of the Special Staff, Delhi Police, Anand Vihar.

They demanded Rs 50,000 from her as a bribe for not implicating her name in a case. After some bargaining, the accused agreed to accept Rs 11,000 as part payment from the complainant.

The CBI again set up a trap to nab the two head constables posted at the Patparganj Industrial Area Police Station. The duo were then caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant as part of payment.
