The shooting took place close to 11 p.m., approximately 19 miles (30 kilometers) north of Austin.

According to Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks, the incident stemmed from a dispute between two groups during a concert at the event, leading to gunfire.
Chief Banks stated that the two deceased victims were not involved in the altercation. The shooting occurred in a vendor area, separate from the concert stage.
Emergency medical care was immediately provided to the wounded by police officers and fire department personnel present at the event. The injured were then transported to local trauma facilities, with six people, including four adults and two children, potentially suffering from serious injuries, as reported by Austin-Travis County EMS on X.

As of Sunday, police had not apprehended a suspect and were uncertain about the number of shooters involved in the incident. Chief Allen expressed his heartbreak for the families whose lives have been forever changed by this senseless act of violence.
