STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Intruders stabbed and robbed a 23-year-old woman during a midday home evasion on Staten Island, police said.
The victim and her son were home when the two suspects broke open the front door of the house near Hygeia Place and Boyd Street in Stapleton at around 2:45 p.m. Monday, according to the NYPD. One of the robbers then stabbed the woman in her leg and stole her wallet, EBT card, some cash, and a social security card, police said.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. It was unclear if the child was injured.
The suspects ran out of the house after the incident and remained at large, as of Thursday, police said.
