LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A Suffolk County police officer allegedly involved in running brothels is accused of sexually assaulting two women he met on dating apps, authorities said.
Officer George Trimigliozzi, 56, of Islip, was indicted Wednesday for sexual abuse and rape in connection to the two incidents in 2021 and 2022, according to prosecutors.
In May 2021, the cop allegedly assaulted a woman in his car following a date in the Patchogue area, officials said. When the woman opened the passenger door to escape, Trimigliozzi allegedly grabbed the door and closed it before she could get out.
A year later, the officer allegedly raped a woman in her home after a date in the Hampton Bays area.
Prosecutors said the woman invited Trimigliozzi into her apartment to sober up after he had too many drinks during the date. He then asked for a house tour and when the two got to her bedroom, the officer allegedly shoved her onto the bed and raped her, authorities said.
“Police officers swear an oath to protect us,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said. “These allegations are truly disturbing. I will use my office to protect everyone equally, without fear or favor.”
Trimigliozzi was indicted in October 2024 on charges of enterprise corruption, promoting prostitution, falsifying business records, filing a false instrument, and
official misconduct for his alleged involvement in running brothels and managing sex workers.
That case is currently pending. The details of the investigation were not immediately available.
The suspended cop is being held on $50,000 cash/ $100,000 bond in the sexual assault case, officials said. He is due back in court Thursday.
His attorney could not be reached Wednesday.
