BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A woman snatched money from a 7-year-old boy at a Bronx bodega. The NYPD released surveillance video of the incident on Thursday.
In September 2024, police say the victim was attempting to pay for fruit at a local bodega when a woman took his money and ran.
The woman, seen wearing what appears to be a shiny zip-up jacket and red wig, opens the door to the bodega. She stops the boy to talk with him. She can be seen holding her hand and then snatching the money, as shown in the video.
The boy's mother, also at the bodega, attempted to stop the fleeing individual. Police said she was punched by the woman who stole from her son.
The assailant fled the scene towards East 170 Street. EMS treated the victim’s mother at the scene of the incident. She is expected to survive, police said.
