ASTORIA, Queens (PIX11) -- The American Red Cross is assisting several households after a three-alarm fire broke out in a three-story building Sunday morning.
The fire was reported at 9:22 a.m. at 21-33 31st Avenue.
Fire officials say three firefighters and one civilian were injured.
“The fire quickly went to a second alarm and then a third alarm due to the volume of fire in these particular buildings. At the height of the incident, we had 33 units here on scene, and over 138 personnel,” said Deputy Assistant Chief Woods.

The fire was brought under control at 11:49 a.m.
Any residents impacted by the fire who need help with their recovery are asked to contact the Red Cross at 1-877-773-2676 and select Option 1.
Fire officials are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
