NEW YORK (PIX11) – If you woke up to your social media feed flooded with pictures of the northern lights, you may be wondering if there's another chance to catch the show.

A geomagnetic storm brought the northern lights to New York’s skyline Thursday night but will the aurora light up the sky for a second time?

According to NOAA’s aurora forecast, the lights will be visible in New York but only if you go farther upstate. 

Another geomagnetic storm may bring the northern lights back to New York for future photo ops.
