NEW DELHI: It is very rare that the
Kookubura
ball (with which Tests are played in
Australia
), swings as late as after 70 overs. But this is exactly where the class of a bowler comes in. And there is no iota of doubt that
Mitchell Starc
is a world class bowler.
Starc displayed supreme skills yet again on the third day of the first Test against
Pakistan
in Perth.
Bowling the 76th over to
Sarfaraz Ahmed
,
Starc
cleaned up the former Pakistan captain with an absolute rocket that took away the off-stump. The delivery was very full and tailing back into the right-hander,
Sarfaraz
hung deep in the crease, the feet went nowhere and he ended up playing right across the line, to be dismissed f 3.
The superb delivery even drew praise from the best left-arm fast bowler to play the game -
Wasim Akram
- who is commentating in the match.
Starc finished with 2/25 as Pakistan were bowled out for 271 on the cusp of tea to trail Australia (487) by 216 runs.
Pakistan have not won a Test in Australia since 1995.
