caught the attention of ‘Big B’, an avid cricket fan, who promptly liked and retweeted it.
Interestingly, the legend himself did not watch the match due to a superstition. “When I don't watch we WIN,” he posted.

Within 20 hours, the UP Police post garnered substantial traction from the public, amassing over 93,000 views, more than 2,600 likes, and surpassing 850 retweets.
“Our tweets celebrating the Indian cricket team's victory are our way of joining in the euphoria and elation with cricket enthusiasts. By injecting a touch of humour, we endeavour to establish a more personal connection with people, demonstrating that we are not only law enforcers but also fellow citizens who share in their passions and celebrations,” said UP Director General of Police, Prashant Kumar.

This isn’t the first time UP Police has leveraged cricket-themed posts to raise awareness among the public. On May 2, 2023, post urging individuals to utilize the UP 112 emergency response service instead of resorting to arguments, reached an audience of over 2.4 million, garnered 54,000 likes, and was shared by more than 7,000 users, achieving viral status across social media platforms.
Similarly, on November 15, 2023, the department posted a congratulatory message as Team India advanced to the semi-finals of the One Day Cricket World Cup, garnering over 1lakh views, more than 3,600 likes, and over 500 shares.
