Union Minister's 'Jinnah's spirit' dig at Opposition over Parliament breach

10 months ago 23

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday took a dig at All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi over his remarks on security breach in Parliament, and said, he has been influenced by the ideology of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

"The spirit of Jinnah has infiltrated Owaisi, which is why he only sees Muslims and is trying to find a Hindu-Muslim angle even in criminals," Giriraj Singh said.

The Union Minister accused the Opposition of "doing politics" on the security breach incident, saying the faith, caste and religion of the terrorists does not matter.

"Terrorists are considered only as terrorists without consideration of their religious affiliations under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. They (Opposition) are asking about what would have happened if those involved in the parliament security breach were found to be Muslims," Giriraj Singh said.

He added, "They (Opposition) perceive terrorists and extremists through the lens of Hindu-Muslim. But Amit Shah is not among those who run away, he is someone who responds with firmness and determination."

JDU, AIMIM, and Congress had previously targeted the government, saying the situation would have been different if the Parliament intruders were Muslims.
