Travel advisory: Lane closures at George Washington Bridge this week

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Lane closures are planned at the George Washington Bridge during set times this week.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey urged drivers to consider additional travel time due to the lane closures.

The following lanes will be temporarily closed at the George Washington Bridge this week.

GWB lane closures from Tuesday to Thursday

• One lane on the ramp from eastbound Route 46 to eastbound bridge approach lanes will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning.
• The ramp from the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to eastbound lanes on the upper level will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists can exit at Hudson Terrace.
• Three eastbound lanes and three westbound lanes on the upper level will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning. 
• Two westbound lanes on the upper-level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning.
• The 179th Street ramp will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists can use the lower level.

GWB lane closures from Tuesday to Friday

• One westbound lane on the upper level will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.
• One westbound lane on the lower-level Trans-Manhattan Expressway to the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway ramp will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.
• One westbound lane on the lower-level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• One eastbound lane on the lower level will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• One eastbound approach lane on the lower level will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
• One eastbound lane on the upper level to the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway ramp will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• One eastbound lane on the upper level will be closed from Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
