TOI’s Rajtilak is GUJ prez for third term

Panaji: Rajtilak Naik

from The Times of India was elected as the president of the

Goa Union of Journalists

(GUJ) on Saturday for the third consecutive term. The elections to the GUJ executive committee for

2024-2026

were held on June 29 at the GUJ office in Panaji.
Rajtilak won with 135 votes, while his opponent Avit Bagle secured 53 votes according to the results declared by the returning officer Waman Prabhu.

A total of 196 voters out of 226 eligible voters exercised their franchise giving a

voting turnout

of 86.7%.
Ten members were also elected to the GUJ executive committee on Saturday. The members are Vasudev Pagi, Amresh Parab, Sandeep Desai, Audumber Shinde, Ajay Anant Lad, Upendra Naik, Amar Patil, Vitthal Gawade (Parwadkar), William Rodrigues, and Swapnil Tari.
