Thousands in New Jersey without power for hours on Thanksgiving day: Officials

Monmouth County (PIX11) – Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power for hours on Thanksgiving day, a Jersey Central Power and Light spokesperson confirmed in an email. 

Over 7,000 customers did not have power, officials confirmed to PIX11 News.

The most affected customers were in Middletown Township, Atlantic Highlands Borough, and Highland Borough, according to the company's website

The power outage was restored at around 8:28 p.m.

Officials said a powerline went down, which affected the area's customers.

The power outage lasted for around five hours.
