look:
Styling a yellow sari
“A classic block yellow sari is a staple on the first day of Navarathri,” says fashion designer Chaitanya Rao, and shares tips on how to style this ensemble:
Fabric choice: Yellow is mostly a morning colour, so if you are on the go, opt for lightweight fabrics, like silk, georgette, or chiffon, for a comfortable and flowy look.

If you are going for a festive gathering or inviting guests home, yellow Kanjivarams with monochrome border can be a beautiful pick.

Shade selection: The ideal shade of yellow depends on your skin tone. Fair skin can carry off bright yellows like mustard or turmeric, while darker skin tones can look stunning in deeper shades like hues of saffron.
Accessorising: If you are opting for a morning look, you can pair it with a simple black blouse and keep the accessories minimal. A pair of gold earrings and a delicate necklace can complement the look. To add a touch of tradition, one may put a bindi.

The make-up guide book
“A soft and neutral look always compliments a yellow sari,” says Reena Paiva, a city-based makeup artiste. She shares :
Eye makeup: For evening makeup, use shades of gold, bronze, or copper to create a warm and luminous eye look; for mornings, one may go for a nude hue or skip the eyeshadow. A thin line of eyeliner and a coat of mascara can enhance your eyes.
Face: Skip contours for yellow but make sure to add a touch of highlighter (powder preferred) to your cheekbones, especially if you plan to go out in the sun. A peachy blush (for darker skin tones) or a pink blush (for fairer ones) can make your look stand out.
Lipstick: While a nude or peach lipstick will complete the natural look, red lipstick can never go wrong with yellow. Opt for a brown-hued lip colour if you want to pull more attention to your face.
