Teen swimmers missing at Jacob Riis Park Beach in Queens; search underway: NYPD

ROCKAWAY BEACH, Queens (PIX11) -- Rescuers are currently canvassing waters after two 17-year-old boys were lost while swimming at Jacob Riis Park Beach in Queens Friday, according to police.

FDNY received a call for swimmers in distress at 6:35 p.m. A diving team was sent to search for the missing people, officials said.

A dozen fire trucks and a swarm of NYPD and FDNY members are on the beach. A video on Citizen showed a swarm of people overlooking a boat from the NYPD's Water Patrol scouring the waters at Rockaway Beach.
