NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally at Madison Square Garden promises appearances from many high-profile supporters.
The rally was scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., but a huge crowd had already amassed at the arena by 8 a.m.
The rally will bring big names like SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson to New York City, according to Trump's campaign.
Other speakers will include former presidential hopeful Robert F Kennedy Jr., New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, and Rudy Giuliani. Trump’s kids Lara, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., will also be in attendance.
“Regardless if you support him or not, this event is just an iconic American event,” said Greenpoint resident Anthony Filipelli, who was outside the venue early Sunday.
The rally is also expected to face multiple counter-protests from groups like the Lincoln Project, Jews for Racial & Economic Justice and Veterans for Responsible Leadership.
“We are rallying to tell Trump and his supporters: Trump is not welcome in New York City,” said organizers with Jews for Racial & Economic Justice.
Kamala Harris caused a stir in Texas over the weekend by bringing out Beyonce at a campaign rally.
