Subway crime has hit historic lows this year, NYPD officials announced in April.
Crime fell almost 20 percent in the city’s transit system from January 2025 through March 2025 compared to the same time last year, the second-lowest level in 27 years when record keeping began, according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
