Small plane lands on Southern State Parkway in Suffolk County

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A small plane crashed on the Southern State Parkway in Suffolk County on Tuesday, video from AIR11 shows.
An eyewitness told PIX11 News that it looked like a single-engine plane had crashed on a ramp at Exit 33 and at least six police vehicles surrounded it.
Republic Airport is located near the parkway. It's unknown where the plane took off from or where it was headed.
A small plane crashed last March after taking off from Republic Airport. One person was killed and two were critically injured, according to authorities.
