, who is lodged in Ludhiana central jail, was sent to the PGI Chandigarh for an MRI, but was later found dancing at a wedding in a marriage palace at Hissowal village on Mullanpur-Raikot road.

Chahal suspended two cops and initiated a departmental inquiry in which the role of other officials, including the line officer and jail's doctor, will also be probed.

The suspended cops are sub-inspector Mangal Singh and assistant sub-inspector Kuldeep Singh. Sarvotam, alias Lucky Sandhu, who is state general secretary of Youth Congress, has multiple FIRs, including extortion, kidnapping and assault, against him.

, superintendent, Ludhiana central jail, said, "Sarvotam Singh has a disc problem and earlier too, he was taken to the PGI as the Ludhiana civil hospital lacks medical facilities to treat this problem. The doctor at the Ludhiana jail's hospital has recommended an MRI after he complained of severe back pain. On December 8, the police personnel came from Ludhiana police lines who took him along. As per our information, the police personnel had taken Sandhu to the PGI where doctors gave him some medicine, but did not perform an MRI."
