Benchmark stock indices opened higher on Tuesday, driven by gains in FMCG and auto stocks with Maruti Suzuki shares gaining over 4%.

The S&P BSE Sensex added 156.15 points to 80,116.53, while the NSE Nifty50 gained 27.15 points to 24,347.70 as of 10:25 AM.
