MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- This won't surprise many New Yorkers, but New York City was recently named the best city in the country, according to a study.
The Big Apple ranked No. 1 in a list of the top 100 cities in the United States, thanks to a boom in tourism post-pandemic, according to the report.
"Fortunately, tourism numbers have had a breathtaking return, from 33 million visitors in 2021 (less than half of 2019’s total) to 62.2 million in 2023 (11.6 million international and 50.6 domestic)—and onward to a projected 64.5 million in 2024," the report states.
New York City took the third spot in a list of the best cities in the world behind London and Paris.
Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas rounded out the top five best cities in the country. Other New York Cites that cracked the top 100 list were Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Poughkeepsie, according to the report.
