During his India visit, Roh said:

“We will start manufacturing laptops this year at the Noida factory.

Preparations are already underway. Noida is a very important production base for Samsung. It is the second-largest base for Samsung. There may be some changes at the plant to optimise it as per the global demand, but what remains unchanged is the fact that it is an important base for us.”
He added: “We are cooperating very closely with the Indian government as well as the Samsung team in India, and obviously the cooperation has been quite beneficial. And by maintaining such good cooperation, we will be able to find ourselves in a better situation.”

“And when we look at the global smartphone market, there has been negative growth last year. But, this year, we believe there is also going to be growth coming from the premium and high-end segment much faster than the overall market average,” Roh noted.
