NEW DELHI: India thrashed

England

by a massive 434 runs in the third Test to seize a 2-1 lead in the five-match series on Sunday.
Biggest win: This resounding victory marked India's largest

Test win

in terms of runs, eclipsing their previous record of a 372-run triumph over New Zealand in 2021.

Facing an imposing target of 557 runs for victory, England crumbled under pressure, collapsing to a paltry total of 122 all out in just 39.4 overs on the fourth day of the match.

Ravindra Jadeja

emerged as the chief tormentor for India, claiming five wickets for 41 in 12.4 overs.
The English batting lineup faltered miserably, with none of their batsmen managing to surpass the 20-run mark except for number 10 Mark Wood, who contributed 33 runs.
On the same pitch where England struggled, India displayed formidable batting prowess, amassing 445 and 430 for four declared in their two innings, respectively.

Jaiswal led the India charge
The foundation for this colossal win was laid by

Yashasvi Jaiswal

, who remained unbeaten on a remarkable 214 runs in India's second innings.
Other notable contributions came from

Rohit Sharma

and Jadeja, who both notched up centuries.
Spectacular debut: Adding to India's triumph was the stellar performance of debutant Sarfaraz Khan, who registered back-to-back fifties in his maiden Test appearance.
