Real estate agent explains implications of the FARE Act

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Proposed legislation that could change who pays the broker's fee in New York City has stirred a lot of discussion in recent weeks.

The New York City Council has suggested that the broker's fee should shift to the landlords instead of prospective renters looking for a place to live.

Real estate agent Keyan Sanai sat down with PIX11 political reporter Henry Rosoff to discuss the legislation's implications.

"What they are proposing economically doesn't make sense. Rent will go up but there will be less costs upfront. It's short-term gain for long-term pain," said Sanai.
