PATNA: A 35-year-old property dealer, Rohit Kumar alias Dharmendra, and his business partner, Kali Charan (40), were gunned down by a group of six persons near Mahpur under Sarai police outpost in

Siwan

district around 9.30am on Thursday. Police said the incident was probably the fallout of a land dispute.
Siwan SP Shailesh Kumar Sinha said Rohit and Kali Charan had criminal background.

"They were accused in several cases of murder, loot and liquor law violation," he added.
Incharge of Sarai police outpost, Upendra Kumar Singh, said Rohit's wife Gunja Devi has filed an FIR against six persons, including four brothers Shailendra Yadav, Virendra Yadav, Santosh Yadav and Surendra Yadav. "According to the FIR, Rohit, Kali Charan and Jitendra Yadav were business partners. They had a fight with the accused over a land dispute before being killed. Raids are on to arrest those involved in the murder," Singh added.
