NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A large stretch of Riverside Park is getting a makeover.
The park's Cherry Walk, which runs from St. Clair Place to 100th Street, will be closed for the next six months for construction.
It’s part of a $1.5 million project by the New York City Parks Department to reconstruct the area. The Cherry Walk is estimated to reopen in March 2025 but until then a temporary detour will open for bikers and runners.
Those heading uptown can take Riverside Drive to Tiemann Place and turn onto West 125th to enter the park. While those heading downtown can exit the park through St. Clair Place and take Tiemann Place to Claremont Avenue before merging back into Riverside Drive.
