WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (PIX11) – A police-involved shooting was reported in Woodbridge Township, N.J. Wednesday night, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
AIR11 was over the scene at 1050 King Georges Post Rd. in Fords, which is home to Royal Albert's Palace, a banquet hall, and the Raritan Hotel. Marked and unmarked NYPD cruisers were seen at the scene, along with local New Jersey police.
Sources told PIX11 News that the NYPD was investigating an attempted murder in Manhattan on June 6, and that the investigation led them to the Raritan Hotel.
Shots were fired between the suspect, NYPD officers and Woodbridge police, sources said. An NYPD detective was shot in the foot, and a Woodbridge detective was struck in the shooting, according to sources.
The suspect was also shot. His condition is unknown, sources said.
The Attorney General's Office is handling the investigation, according to prosecutors. Officials haven't confirmed what led to the shooting, if there are any victims or if they've made any arrests.
