Responding officers fired a single shot at Felix, which killed him, authorities said. An 8-month-old baby girl was rescued by officers from inside the apartment, police said. She was physically unharmed.

Police believe the incident started as a domestic dispute that escalated quickly.

Both the father and stepmother were transported to a hospital and were listed in stable condition, authorities said.
