Plane lands on Long Island beach: SCPD

FIRE ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) – A plane landed on a Fire Island beach Monday afternoon, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. 

Two people were on board but no one was injured when the plane landed at Atlantique Beach around 12:15 p.m., according to police and the FAA.

The plane was a single-engine Piper PA-28, according to preliminary information from the FAA.

Additional information about the cause of the plane landing was not immediately available.
