PILIBHIT: The Pilibhit district has ranked first among the four districts of
Bareilly division
in the field of
Ayushman Bharat Health
Account registration (ABHA) and seventh place in the entire state.
Chief medical officer (CMO) of Pilibhit, Dr Alok Kumar said that ABHA is a digital account of a citizen’s health that integrates the user’s medical records and provides a single platform for medical history.
This card allows the user to share his medical details with any
healthcare centre
, hospital, or medical professional across the country for consultation and treatment under ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY)’ – National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) of the central government.
Pilibhit made as many as 3,50,393 ABHA cards, at par with 15.1% of the district’s total population. Bareilly secured second rank with 6%, Badaun secured third place with 2.2%, and Shahjahanpur stood last with 0.8% cards, said Dr Kumar.
“ABHA is an integral component of ABY and we are striving to maximise concerned registrations through motivational campaigns. Although anyone can apply for an ABHA card online, most of the cards in Pilibhit were made through e-Kavach, a comprehensive digital health application being used by ASHAs (accredited social health activists) and ANMs (auxiliary nurse midwives). To give a further boost to the concerned drive, we are imparting special training to ASHAs, ANMs, and the community health officer,” the CMO said.
ABHA would also save patients from waiting for their turn at the hospital for hours. An ABHA cardholder could fix an appointment in advance. His/her case for any pathological or diagnostic test would also be referred to the concerned lab online, he added.
