Person stabbed near City Hall building: FDNY

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A person was stabbed in an unprovoked attack near City Hall Wednesday, sources told PIX11 News.

A 19-year-old was stabbed in the neck near Chambers and Centre streets just before 12 p.m., sources said. The victim was taken to a hospital, according to the FDNY.

Sources told PIX11 News the stabbing happened while the victim stood in line for court. The suspect ran, and police have not caught them, according to sources.

Video from the scene shows police blocking off a large area in front of the New York City Criminal Court Summons building Wednesday afternoon. The barriers forming a line outside the building were empty just after the stabbing, video from the scene shows.
