MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A pedestrian is in critical condition after a hit-and-run incident in Soho, Manhattan early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Officers responded to reports of a man struck at the intersection of Canal Street and Lafayette Steet at 4:58 a.m., according to the NYPD. A man in his 30s was found on the road, unconscious and unresponsive, authorities report.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was crossing Canal Street when the driver of a dark-colored SUV struck him before speeding off, authorities said.
First responders rushed the man to a hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
