Pearl & The Beast store lets you turn mussels into custom jewelry in NYC

SOHO, Manhattan (PIX11) -- A store in Manhattan lets you buy a mussel and then make jewelry out of the pearls that come from it.

Pearl & The Beast is located at 22 Howard St. Basement in SoHo. It has become a hotspot since going viral on social media.

According to the store's website, the process is simple. You pick a mussel from $70 to $80 and open it to reveal the pearl(s) inside. Staffers will polish the pearl and then you can pick from a variety of jewelry options to create something personal.

Prices vary, but they have a price chart on their Instagram.
