Over 100 students fall ill at Thane school

THANE: Around 109 students at

Sant Gadge Baba Ashram school

at

Shahapur taluka

in Thane District were taken ill due to

food poisoning

on Wednesday afternoon.
The students were taken to Shahapur Government Hospital out of which condition of 10 were initially serious but till news going to press they were stable.
On the occasion of the death anniversary of a relative in family in Shahpur, the family members had given Pulao and Gulab Jamun to the children of the Ashram school, after eating which the students were complaining about ommiting and other problems.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon at ashram school situated at Bhatsai village area in Shahapur taluka in Thane District.

The ashram school authority found that after students had meal served by a donor students started complaining about symptoms including restlessness, fever, and severe vomiting.
A doctor from hospital said that initially out of admitted 109 students, 10 students condition were looking serious but they all are stable now.
