NYC hiring: High-paying jobs with starting salaries over $200K

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New York City is looking to fill many high-level positions with starting salaries over $200K.

The Office of the General Counsel is hiring an attorney and manager to serve as the Special Counsel and Chief of Staff to the General Counsel. Job duties include advising the General Counsel and managing a staff of over 40 attorneys, investigators, and support staff.

The salary is $205,000. Applicants must have admission to the New York State Bar and 18 months in the supervision of other attorneys in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.

The Department of Homeless Services is hiring a First Deputy Commissioner. Job duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations of DHS, serving as a primary liaison for the agency oversight partners, and representing the DSS Commissioner and DHS Administrator in public hearings.

The position is based in Manhattan and offers a salary of $221,293 – $241,813. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and five years of progressively responsible experience, including two years at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency.

NYC hiring fair offers positions with $69K salaries

The New York City Department of Correction is hiring a Deputy Commissioner for Training and Development. Job duties include overseeing and managing subordinate administrative and instructional staff, assessing the quality of instruction, and developing and administering training budgets.

The position is based in Queens and offers a salary of $225K. Applicants must either have a master's degree and five years of experience or a bachelor's degree and seven years of experience.
