NEW YORK (PIX11) --- It's getting darker sooner in New York City as time ticks down to the end of daylight saving time next weekend.
The last 6 p.m. sunset in the New York area is on Friday. The sun will set earlier each day until the clocks go back on Sunday, Nov. 3, according to Date and Time. A long stretch of 4:28 p.m. sunsets kicks off on Dec. 2.
Daylight saving time begins again in March 2025.
There have been calls from lawmakers to end daylight saving time in the U.S. Legislators in New York and New Jersey have introduced bills in 2024 to end the practice, but they’ve since stalled.
Hawaii and most of Arizona are the only states that don’t observe daylight saving time.
