MUMBAI: In a big boost to Mumbai in their quest to qualify for the knockouts of the

Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy

, India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who was not available for the team’s first few matches of the tournament due to a personal issue (the wedding of his sister Dinal Yadav), will join the squad in Hyderabad from Monday and will turn out for the side's last two league matches against Services (on Dec 3) and Andhra (on Dec 5), TOI has learnt.
"Yes, SKY is flying down to Hyderabad tomorrow to join the Mumbai team and will turn out in the side's last two league matches against Nagaland on Tuesday, and then Andhra on Dec 5," a source told this paper.
Led by India batsman Shreyas Iyer, Mumbai have played three matches in the tournament so far, in which they've won two and lost one. Having collected eight points, they are placed fourth in the table. They play Nagaland today.
Surya had led India in the T20I series in South Africa recently, with India wining the series 2-1.

The Mumbaikar was slightly off-colour as he was out for scores of 21, 4 & 1 in the series, but his captaincy was highly appreciated, especially for the way he relinquished the No 3 spot for Tilak Varma, who cracked back-to-back centuries against the Proteas, and encouraged Sanju Samson, who too hit two hundreds in the series.
