Real Madrid’s painful 1-5 aggregate loss to Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League has triggered serious frustration among fans and stirred unease inside the club.

The disappointing performance and early elimination have led to plenty of criticism from all directions, and even former players have begun voicing their opinions.

One of the most notable reactions has come from former captain Sergio Ramos. The veteran defender, who spent over 15 years at the Santiago Bernabeu and led the team to countless victories, has not stayed silent.

Despite no longer being part of the club, Ramos still feels deeply connected to the team that defined his career.

Standing by Madrid even in tough times

“From Madrid today, yesterday and always. So much nonsense, man… 6 trophies in 10 years,” he wrote as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, clearly defending his former team during a tough moment.

During his time at Real Madrid, Ramos was a symbol of leadership and determination.

He won four Champions League titles with the club, three of them consecutively as captain—a feat that remains one of the greatest in modern football history.

His post served not only as a show of support but also as a subtle challenge to those criticising the club too quickly.

While the team’s recent collapse in Europe has left many questioning their direction, Ramos’s words can be perceived as the mindset that has defined Real Madrid for decades: setbacks are temporary, but the identity and legacy are forever.
