Multiple robbed of watches worth $25K on Upper East Side: NYPD

UPPER EAST SIDE (PIX11) -- Police are looking for a man who they say allegedly robbed three people of their watches, worth as much as $25,000, on the Upper East Side.

A 74-year-old woman was robbed of her Rolex watch worth $7,000 on Aug. 5, police say. According to authorities she was approached from behind as she was walking on East 83rd Street little after 12 p.m. and had her watch pulled off her wrist.

In a second incident, an 81-year-old man had his antique Omega watch, worth $25,000, snatched from his wrist, officials report. Similarly, he was approached from behind, at the corner of 3rd Avenue and East 68th Street on Aug. 24 around 7:30 p.m., police say.

Most recently an 80-year-old woman had her Ebel 18-karat gold watch stolen, worth $20,000, according to authorities. The woman was hurt when she was approached from behind on Park Avenue just before 1 p.m. on Aug. 31., officials report

Police are looking for a man who they say may be connected to the string of robberies in the neighborhood. He's described as being about 5’9” in height, 155 pounds, and of slim build. 

The man was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt with white lettering on the front, light-colored jeans, white sneakers, a dark-colored NY Yankees cap, and a blue face mask under his chin.
