ASTORIA, Queens (PIX11) -- A woman jumped from a third-floor window of her apartment building in Astoria, Queens to escape her son, police say.
The 64-year-old woman was found on the ground near 20th Road and Shore Boulevard just before 10:15 p.m. on Friday, authorities report.
Sources tell PIX11 News the woman was trying to get away from her son who was threatening her with a knife. He allegedly has a history of multiple prior arrests.
When police arrived at the scene the woman’s son had already left the apartment. The 64-year-old was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
